‘It’s astounding. Time is, fleeting. Madness, takes its toll.’ You cannot read those lyrics without wanting to burst into song! Of course, taken from the incredible The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the ‘Time Warp’ is an instantly recognisable song from an even more recognisable show.
And now, two more popular faces are joining The Rocky Horror Picture Show as it continues its new tour in 2019.
The show first opened in 1973 at the Royal Court and has become a cult favourite of theatre lovers up and down the country. With an outrageous storyline, characters that are instantly recognisable and songs that will stick in your head for weeks at a time, the new tour started in December 2018 and is promising to be a popular choice!
Grimsby born dancer, Joanne Clifton will be taking to the stage as the leading woman in this latest national tour. Joanne Clifton is perhaps most well known for her impressive stint on Strictly Come Dancing, however, she has certainly had an impressive career away from the mainstream media of the BBC. Having won the World Ballroom Showdance Championship in 2013, Joanne had an impressive career on Strictly and won series 9 and 14th.
However, Joanne recently has become known for her brilliant acting and singing career too; having impressed in the title role of Millie Dilmount in the UK tour of Thoroughly Modern Millie in 2017. She also had a great time playing the lead role of Alex Owens in the UK tour of Flashdance the Musical.
Another newcomer to the tour is singer Duncan James. Duncan James appeared first on the scene as a member of the boy band Blue. Since then, he has turned his trade to acting and taken part in various television productions such as Dancing on Ice and has enjoyed a long stint playing a lead role in the hit soap Hollyoaks. However, the stage has proven well for Duncan James and has just finished starring in the hit musical Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and Chicago.
The cast of The Rocky Horror Picture Show now has a solid backbone of natural talent who will be able to give theatregoers an incredible experience that will create memories guaranteed to last a lifetime. Don’t forget that Ben Adams from A1 is part of the production too!
