The West End production of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is about to get a major change! Michelle Visage, the feisty judge of Rupaul’s Drag Race, is set to make her debut on the West End as Miss Hedge. Although she makes a living judging RuPaul’s Drag Race, she will be taking on a role as a teacher who is intolerant of other lifestyles, particularly a specific student who happens to be a drag queen.
Visage signed onto the show because she agrees with the message it is trying to send, and fans everywhere should be happy to see her debut in such an important role. The hit musical currently stars Tamsin Carroll, but Michelle Visage is slated to take over the role on 18 October and will perform for a limited run until 26 January 2019. She will be joining the current cast which includes John McCrea, Rebecca McKinnis, Sobna Gulati, and Lucie Shorthouse.
Everybody’s Talking About Jamie made its debut last year at The Crucible Theatre but is currently playing at the famed Apollo Theatre in London’s West End. The score for the musical is written by Dan Gillespie Sells of The Feeling, and the show has been nominated for 5 Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical. Because of its immense success, a film adaptation is currently being worked on by the production’s creators. This is definitely a show that you don’t want to miss!
