Get ready for a bumpy night at the Noel Coward Theatre, as Gillian Anderson and Lily James are set to take the stage in a riveting stage adaptation of Ivo van Hove’s All About Eve! The two renowned actresses are sure to bring a certain energy and professionalism to the Noel Coward Theatre, and fans are eager to watch this upcoming performance.
The 1950 film was critically acclaimed, telling the story of aspiring actress Eve Harrington (James). She finds a place under established star Margo’s (Anderson) wing, but little does Margo know that Eve is a conniver who is out to topple and betray her. This is the first stage adaptation of the classic story, and we are looking forward to seeing Anderson and James act opposite each other in such a timeless tale.
Anderson, most famously known for her role on the X-Files, has a long history in stage performances, and is eager to take on the role of Margo. Lily James is known for her roles in Downtown Abbey, Cinderella and Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again; and should make for a great Eve Harrington. The production is directed by the award-winning Belgian director Ivan van Hove, who has also produced stage versions of Lazaraus, The Crucible, and The Fountainhead. The limited run of All About Eve will take place at the Noel Coward Theatre in London’s West End, opening on 2 February 2019 and running for 14 weeks.
