Complete casting has finally been announced for the West End production of Company, which will be performed at the Gielgud Theatre starting on the 26th of September 2018! This is a surprising cast, with some major changes taking place. Jonathon Bailey, who wowed us in The Last Five Years, will take on the role of Jamie – replacing the female character of Amy. Alex Gaumond, whose credits include Matilda the Musical, will play Jamie’s fiancée Paul.
Bailey brings a new level of charisma to the stage, and he has plenty of experience to back it up. He’s appeared on television in Chewing Gum and Doctor Who and performed in King Lear with Ian McKellen. These are a just a few of his credits, but we are looking forward to his performance in this production of Company.
Playing Susan will be Daisy Maywood, who gained critical acclaim in The Flying Lovers of Vitebsk and Promises Promises at the Southwark Playhouse. She has a fantastic stage presence, and we are looking forward to seeing how she adds her own personal touch to the Daisy character.
Don’t forget about two-time Tony winner Patti LuPone, who will take the stage as Joanne. She is well-known across London as a premiere actress, and we can’t wait to see her acting in this popular play.
The play is directed by Marianne Elliott, who is the first woman in history to win two Tony Awards on Broadway, so you can certainly count on an excellent production.
