Chicago is a favourite of many musical lovers, and the cast at London’s West End just got even better! Alexandra Burke, who is an X-Factor champion, will join the London cast as Roxie Hart, the aspiring actress who kills her lover. We know that Burke has the pipes to sing the many pieces that Hart dazzles the crowd with throughout the play, and many have been impressed by her live musical performances in The Bodyguard and Sister Act. She’s impressed people across London so far, so there are high hopes that she will take on the role of Roxie Hart with the charisma and passion that she is so well known for.
Burke has big shoes to fill, as she takes over for Sarah Soetaert, who captivated critics and audiences alike with her role as Hart. Many are sad to see her go, but we believe that they will be just as thrilled by Burke, who makes her Chicago debut on August 13th at the Phoenix Theatre. Anybody who wants to see Burke’s performance should jump on the opportunity to get their tickets, as she will only be part of the cast for 2 months, ending her run on October 14th of this year.
