If you haven’t yet had the chance to see Dreamgirls at the Savoy Theatre in London’s West End, now is the time to get your tickets! The award-winning musical’s run at the famed theatre will be coming to an end next month, when it will be replaced by another famous show: Dolly Parton’s ‘9 to 5 The Musical’. Parton is bringing her act to London, and it is sure to be a blast for all of her fans and newcomers to the genre.
The ensemble cast for 9 to 5 The Musical features well established stage actors Louise Redknapp, Brian Conley, Amber Davies, Bonnie Langford and Natalie McQueen. Redknapp will be taking on the starring role of Violet Newstead and Davies will play across from her as Judy Bernly. Conley comes into the production as Newstead’s contemptible boss Franklin Hart Jr., Langford will play Roz and McQueen will play Doralee.
Redknapp is the perfect choice for the lead role, having gained much fame in the UK in the 1990s as a singer and actress. Fans are eager to see her take on the role originally performed by the legendary Dolly Parton, and her interactions with her castmates should provide plenty of entertainment. The musical is based on the 1980s film of the same name and promises to provide all the laughs of the original with a modern twist. The Savoy Theatre should make for the perfect venue for 9 to 5, and tickets are on sale now!
