A big change is coming to the West End’s Phoenix Theatre, as Duncan James will be taking the place of Martin Kemp in the role of Billy Flynn in the theatre’s production of Chicago. Duncan is no stranger to the world-famous musical, as he originally took on this role all the way back in 2008. This, however, is his first time in a decade playing the part, and he brings 10 more years of experience and wisdom with him as he joins the already star-studded cast of Alexandra Burke, Josefina Gabrielle, Mazz Murray, and Paul Rider.
Chicago is a timeless comedy that tells the story of two murderous female performers who rival each other during the years of prohibition in Al Capone’s gangster friendly city of Chicago. The Phoenix Theatre’s production has been impressing audiences since early 2018 with a highly talented cast and a top-notch creative team. Adding Duncan James as Billy Flynn will only make this an even more enjoyable performance, and spectators are sure to rave about it for years to come.
Duncan James will join the cast on Monday, 10 September 2018. It is unclear if he will play throughout the rest of its run at the Phoenix, which is currently scheduled to play through 5 January 2019.
